Increased Total Over 1907 In Money Given and General Prosperity of All Organizations. : : Canadian racing Is in a healthy and flourishing condition and grows In importance year by year. To many turfmen of the United States it was a real life saver this year, jiving profitable employment to .their horses that otherwise would have probably been idle. Reciprocally the American horses added to the attractiveness of the Canadian meetings and the many American bookmakers and visitors increased their revenues greatly. This was because racing at Fort Erie and Windsor was not carried on so long as in 1907. the natural result being a falling off in the aggregate of money distributed among winning owners. Toronto, Montreal and Hamilton all made handsome increases and probably will do better in 1909.
