FEATURES OF COMING HAVANA MEETING. There will be fifty days of racing at the new track just outside of Havana. Cuba, beginning on December 1. and ending on January 31. There will be six races each day. with purses ranging from 00 to 00. In addition to the regular purses the Carnival Commission ot the Havana City Council is expected to appropriate 0,000 to be given to the feature races during the meeting. The track, which was opened for the first time last winter, has been much improved since then and is said to be one of the best equipped race courses in North America. The. stewards are Thomas J. L. Brown, Eliseo Arguelles and Arturo Hermandez Mejia. The racing officials are Thomas J. L. Brown, presiding judge: Fred W. Gerhardy. associate judge and secretary; Charles Campau, clerk of the scales; James Milton, starter: Joseph McLennan, entry clerk and paddock judge. Some idea of the general inducements to owners can be gained from tiie offerings for the first day. which are the following, with the proviso that the value of the Inaugural Handicap and all other handicaps will be increased from the appropriation of the Carnival Commission of the Havana City Council: First Race Purse 50, of which 5 to second and 5 to third. For all ages. Two-year-olds to cariv 91 lbs.; three-year-olds. 110 lbs.: four-year-olds and upward. 115 lbs. Those that have not won three races since July 30, allowed 5 lbs. It such are three-year-olds and upward and have not won since November 1. allowed 5 lbs. additional. Selling purse races excepted. Five and a half furlongs. Second Race Purse 00. of which 5 to second i and 5 to third. Four-year-olds and upward. S lbs. below the scale. Non-winners of two races since August 15 allowed 5 lbs. The winner to be sold at auction for 00. Entrance each to the winner. Six furlongs. Third Race Purse 50. of which 5 to seeond and 5 to third. For three-year-olds and upward. ,200 weight for age. 2 lbs. allowed for 00 less to 00. one mile. Fourth Race Inaugural Handicap for all ages. By subscription of each and additional for starters to the winner, with 00 added, of which to second and 0 to third. Entries close Monday. November 31, at the office at the track at 9:30. Weights announced same day at 10:30. One mile and three-sixteenths. Fifth Race Purse 50, of which 5 to second and 5 to third. For two-year-olds. Those that have won five races allowed 3 lbs.; four races. 5 lbs.; three races, 10 lbs.: two races. 15 lbs. Maidens. IS lbs. Five furlongs. Sixth Race Cuban Cup. Cuban-owned horses. Purse 5. of which 5 to second and 0 to third. For all ages which have been owned in Cuba prior to September 1, 190S. Ten pounds above the scale. Non-winners in 190S allowed 7 lbs.: three-year-olds and upward, bred In Cuba, allowed 15 lbs. additional. The Cuban Racing Association will also present the owner of the winner of the race with a silver cup. Six furlongs.
