, . . . : 1 i . . I 1 MANY ENTRIES TO SANTA ANITA STAKES. Los Angeles. Cal.. November 23. The work of tabulating the nominations to the several big events to be run off at Santa Anita has been completed, and the result indicates very clearly the remarkable interest that the owners of high-class horses throughout the country are taking in the forthcoming meeting at Santa Anita. Nineteen stakes arc to be decided, as against thirteen of last season, and the list of nominations to this seasons events foots up the remarkable total of 1.04S. or over 100 greater than the total for last season. This makes the average number of nominations to each stake eighty-six. which is a record for the Pacific coast. All of the big owners have been liberal in entering their high-class horses in the different events. S. C. Ilildreth heads the list with 1 IS to his credit. P. T. Chinn. Barney Schrciber. T. II.
