THRONGING TOWARD SANTA ANITA PARK. Los Angeles. Cal.. November 23. The influx of eastern horse followers is the largest In1 the history of Los Angeles racing, and the most surprising part of it is the fact that many are. coming in from San Franeisco. Almost all the .officials of the association are now acre, the only absentees being atarter Holtmau. who is due to arrive tonight, and Seymour Beutler. who will reach here tomorrow. W. A. Pinkerton got in from Frisco this morn-inc and will stay for a month looking after his interests in the policing of the, track and also his branch agency here. Sam Hildreths Frisco contingent of sixteen horses got in today In charge of Dave Leary and is now stabled at Santa Anita Park. In the string Is the ereani of his stable, and he will make a dangerous bid for the big fixtures here. Pat Dunnes carload arrived from Latonia this forenoon, in the list being Honest and Lens. It Is Mr. Dunnes first visit to the coast since the Inaugural meeting at Ascot Park. A. W. Hamilton, presiding judge, is registered at the Alexandria, having just arrived from Mount Sterling. Ky. His associate. Cole, is expected here tonight over the Santa Fe. Among the latest newcomers are Archie Zimmcr. John Steiner. George Kleeman. Henry Meyer. Joe Russell. Sam Shaeu. Frank Schad. J. MeManus, Fred It. Lupus, Fred Morelock. George Marks, James Monroe and Horace Alger. , The rain of Sunday has settled the track thoroughly and it will be in the best possible condition Thanksgiving Day. Almost all the season boxes have been taken despite the fact that the price has been increased from 00 to 00. A crowd of 10.000 Is reasonably expected on the opening day. The staff of several newspapers have arrived: Los Angeles will therefore have a plethora of racing literature this winter.
