CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE PACIFIC UNION HANDICAP - The Pacific-Union Handicap, which was decided yesterday and won by Madman, has been run since 1S94. Previous to 1905 it was run at 1 1-S miles and brought together many capable racers, including Advance Guard, which captured this event in 1900. Changed to a handicap for two-year-olds in 1905 and the value increased to ,000 added, the Pacilic-Union Handicap ha,s proved an interesting feature of the coasty racing and was the niaguet that attracted the large crowd which witnessed this event yesterday.
