? : W. H. FIZERS STABLE EARNSNGS IN HIS BEST TURF YEAR : It was due mainly to the prowess of Plnkola that the western owner, W. n. Fizer, became an important figure on the turf this year. This Meet son of Pink Coat proved a great surprise to New Yorkers last suininer. when he won the 5,000 Empire City Handicap, with such blazing stars of the track as Frank Gill. King James, Jack Atkin, Royal Tourist and Master Robert among those toiling in behind him. It was a notable triumph for him and made amends for his inglorious displays in the two Derbys at New Orleans early in the year, nowever, it was not at Yonkers alone that Pinkola proved liimself a thoroughly good race horse. The fact that he was only twice unplaced this year in twenty-three races, those races being the two Derbys referred to, speaks for itselr. And out at Santa Anita he may yet add to his story of this year before the new one steps in. But if lie does it will be for a new owner, he now belonging to Ed Alvey. Another horse in the stable proved himself not only a useful servant, but a mavel of hardihood. This was the three-year-old, Al Muller, which was started in fifty-two races and was placed in forty-two of them. E. T. Shipp also ran usefully and the record of the stable is: Horse. Age. Pedigree.
