EMPIRE CITY STAKES FILLING WELL. New York. June 11. — Lyman H. Davis, racing secretary of the Empire City Racing Association, reports that the stakes to close on June 15 are drawing a remarkable list of entries. The ,000 Empire Citv Handicap, one mile and a quarter, will probably result in one of the best Taces of the year. The Y inkers meeting is rapidly assuming a position of importance in the turf world, due to the persistent lilwrality of President James Butler, who is doing his full share to rehabilitate raciug in the state of Xew York. ____
