GOOD CARD FOR NEW YORK RACE-GOERS. Attractive Races at Gravesend Today — Hilarious and Joe Madden to Meet Again. Xew York. June 11. — A card of high class is provided for the delectation of metropolitan race-goers at Gravesend tomorrow. The first four races are not numerically strong but there is plenty of compensation in quality. The fifth and sixth races iiavc big fields. The program fairly bristles with attractive features, including three stakes — Greater Xew York Steeplechase, Manhanset and Carlton Stakes. The meeting between Hilarious and Joe Madden in the Curl ton should prove a powerful magnet. An impression prevails that this pair are evenly matched notwithstanding the Keene colts decisive victory over Joe Madden in the Withers. The latter has since rehabilitated himself in the estimation of the experts b» winning the Belmont Stakes. The now thoroughly discredited Favctte. as well as Practical, are also named as starters, hut neither of the pair is seriously considered. The Belmont colt is generally picked to run third. The clear weather that has prevailed since yesterday will have the effect of drying out the track and the going will be good, if not last. Payettes recent defeats were sustained over a muddy track and in some quarters there is a disposition to concede him an outside chance of reversing bis recent running. The book program of the Coney Island Jockey Club published in the Racing Calendar just issued calls lor four raeing days in each full week. Frank Gill, which dropped dead after a race at Gravesend on Thursday, was bred by his owner to several good mares iu Kentucky last winter. Jockey Johnny Taral. a son of Fred Taral, former famous jockey, was married today.
