CARRUTHERS COLORS TO BE SEEN AGAIN. Montreal Que.. June 12. — Announcement that ! James Can-uthers is ahoat t return to racing as an owner has been received with satisfaction i throughout Canada. Several years back Mr. Car rutbers was interested with T. P. Ihclan ot Toronto in a racing establishment, but retired two seasons ago. Mr. Carruthers has wired to John Shields to come to Montreal to talk over the matter of purchasing some horses of class to form the nucleus a Of a new racing stable that he is desirous of organizing. - Shields probable will be asked to train any horses that Mr. Carruthers may buy. When Mr. Carruthers was first prominent in the racing world he was a partner of Johnny Shields father. They owned some good ones between them, including Advance Guard and Logan, famous horses of their dav. Mr. Carruthers will not have poo horses In bis string, but will look for tbe best. He has his eye on one at two good ones.
