Belle-view, hard ridden, was close up throughout, stood a drive gamely and outstayed Huerfano in the closing strides. Huerfano showed the most early speed and held on unexpectedly well. Ed Kane, from a slow beginning, came fast in the last half and finished gamely. Meadowgrass was well up in the first three-quartets and was going fast when sharply cut off and would have been much closer up but for the mishap. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Tom Hay ward had an advantage at the start and. showing the most speed, went into a long lead, maintained a last naee and held Dainty Dame safe in tbe final drive. Dainty Dame broke slowly and bad to be hard ridden to maintain a forward position and faltered in the stretch when called on strongly. Halket. stiff ; ud sure when going to the post, ran well, but was tiring near the end. Colmo ran a good race for him. The others were never prominent. Scratched — 8223MA1 Muller. 109. MrMillan followed Gliding Belle closely to the stretch, where lie came away, but had to be hustled tlirougb the final furlong to outstay The Minks. The latter came with a rush through the stretch, but tired near the end. Gliding Belle ran a good race and showed the most speed for three-quarters. The Fad had no mishaps and quit badly after coing a half. Prince Imperial had a rough trip. Salian was knocked back at the Ftart. Top land quit after going three furlongs.
