BALLOT ABSENTEE FROM GOLD CUP. Minora Wins Again — H. P. Whitneys Hillside Beats Champion Sprinter, Hallaton. London. Eng.. June 17. — Ballot. James R. Keenes crack racer, was withdrawn from tl-e Hold Cup. the big event of the Ascot Heath meeting. Which was won today by J. A. de Rothschilds Bomba. The king and •qneeu again witnessed the races from the royal enclosure, coming to the course in semi state. The kings colors were carried to victory in the St. James Palace Stakes by Minoru. winner of the Derby. Minoru. again ridden by II. Jones, was a decided public choice and the bookmakers were hard hit as a result of the victory. ..ames R. Keene scored his first victory of the meeting with Wedtling Bells, when that filly cantered home a handy winner of the forty-seventh renewal of the Biennial Stakes. Hairy Payne Whitneys Hillside III. took the measure of the champion sprinter. Hallaton. in the All-Aged Stakes. "Skeets" Martin rode the winner in masterful style, obtaining a head victory.
