SARATOGA PLEASED OVER PROSPECTS. New York. June 17. — The fact that the Saratoga Association lias decided to provide six days of racing a week, or twenty four days ill August, has created much enthusiasm at the Spa. This action is partially due to the formal request from the leading business men of Saratoga for as much racing as possible which was filed with President R. T. Wilson. Jr.. and the executive committee of the association last winter. At first the track managers thought that four days a week would suffice, but later they were ready to concede five. When they saw how liberally the sport was patronized, first at Belmont Park and then at Gravesend. however, they concluded that there could be rasing every day at the Spa without incurring much loss, if any. It is understood that the leading Saratoga business men have contributed to a fund to aid in defraying possible losses accruing from the race meeting, while the owners and breeders fund of more than 00,000 also guarantees a deficit that may result from the running of certain stakes. Conditions at Saratoga are such that six days can be ustii to an advantage.
