Ham-merless drew out in the first stride, set a stiff pace and outstayed her opposition decisively. St. Joseph, lucky at the start, maintained nearest and persistent pursuit throughout. Rockstone retained a good i« -i-tion in the early running, finished fast and is extra good. Bonnie Kelso made a wide first turn, but rail forwardly to the stretch turn and tired badly In the stretch. Scarpia ran ill unexpectedly forward pursuit and outstayed the others decisively for third place and is very promising. Dalmatian was always outpaced, but held on persistently. Charlie Hargrave was outrun from the start and his race should be thrown out. Petticoat was always in strenuous forward pursuit and unexpectedly outstayed Ijady Bedford for second place in a cracking effort. Lady Bedford rau in prominent easy pursuit for six furlongs and tired palpably. Twilight Queen was hopelessly outpaced from start to finish. Pearl Point was reserved for over a mile and. finishing fast, got up for third place and is promising. Klo Grande had no mishaps, was excessively urged to keep close * to the leaders for the first mile and tired badly in the closing drive. Judge Ermentrout ran well for seven furlongs, then retired. Sir Jehu Johnson outbroke and outpaced his opposition for five furlongs, but quit very badly at the end and just lasted long enough. Julia Powel was always in nearest pursuit and was wearing the leader down fast at the end. McCarter was a distant tliird by a small margin until in the hist sixteenth, theu drew out into an easy third. Spellbound, away poorly, workeil through close quarters and closed a big gap into a fast going fourth. Ragman, nearly left, closed an Immense gap. Itubia Granda was prominent to the stretch and tired. Oeaa stoadilv improved his position from a rear start. Jolly showed brief speed. The winner was entered for .4X; no bid. Mobility ran in prominent attendance on the pacemaker for six fur- I longs and quit badly. Danger finished well. Campeon showed brief speed and retired early.
