* * SUBURBAN HANDICAP DAY TOMORROW Indications Point to Seven Starters, with Celt and Restigouche Top Weights + + Owing to the exigencies of the times the Suburban Handicap has been shorn of much of its value, as compared with recent years, but it is an event firmly intrenched in the esteem of New York patrons of taxing and its decision tomorrow Is sure to be viewed by a great crowd, all imbued with lively interest in anil varying opinions of the probable outcome. It has some elements of interest absent from the Brooklyn Handicap. The western mare. Kings Daughter, has raced in superb form this year and with but MB pounds to carry will have a hopeful, if not extremely confident, following. Peter Wimmer has a deeided opinion favorable to Alfred Noble and this four-year-olds recent racing, together with his light impost of 00 |Mnmds and respect for the veteran trainers views, will have considerable weight. Neither of this pail-was in the Brooklyn, but both are sure startTs in the Suburban. The three-year-old. EfTendl. won at a mile ami a quarter last Thursday in 2:M~. with 101 pounds up and very easily. He was given tint Sf IMiunds in the Suburban and. if a rider capable of doing him justice at that light impost can be found, he seems a dangerous competitor. But. while these and other outsiders will receive their share of attention, public curiosity in the main will center in the Keene and Hildreth candidates. King James will be ail SSSeatee and. while there has iH-en considerable talk alsmt Mr. Keene starting Hilarious, it is more than probable that the colt will be saved for the 120.400 Tidal Stakes, which is to be run next Saturday. Celt will be Mr. Keene* reliance. Win-i he was beaten by King James and Hestigouche in the Brooklyn Mr. Keene remarked that when people saw him come out to inn in the Suburban they would view a different horse. It is quite probable -uch will be the case and It is to he hoped it will la- the Celt of last year, in form, that will make a trv for the .Suburban of 1000. So far as Hildreth is concerned, he can start Kcstigoncho. Joe Madden and Fitz Herbert if he so elects, but indications point to Kestigouche as his candidate. Joe Madden tieing prohably in reserve for the Tidal Stakes and Fitz llerlicrt for the Lawrence Realization. Kestigouche is a very-fast horse and in grand condition, a tit opixment for any inanY horse. Tlie probability is that the Suburban starters will be the following: Owmr. Horse. Age. Pedigree. Rider. Wt. Janus It. Keenes ch. c. Celt 4 Commando Maid of Erin V. Powers 124 S C. Ilildreths blk. g. Kttstigoiichc 4 Commando- Dancing Water E. Dugah 121 T C McDowells b. in. Kings Daughter. . Ardte, WH. and the selected one of Mr. Belmonts trio. Half Sovereign. 09. Field Mouse. ML and Practical, SO. are spoken of now and then, but they are likeiv to all be absentees when the critical moment arrives, leaving the seven named to constitute the field of starters and a very good field it would be. So far as the riders are concerned, there may be some changes in those named as the probable jockeys.
