STATEMENT ON SALT LAKE SITUATION. Salt Lake City. Itah. June 22. — The suggestion Whack has been made at various times that the reason for calling off the races on June 25 is that the Itah Jockey Club management has not lived up to its 4ontract with the fair association is emphatically denied, not only by W. II. ileason. Xlan-nger Finn and Other club officials, but bv a member of the baaed which con testa the state Fair grounds. This member has made the following public statement: "When Messrs. Sleason and Finn and their associated entered into the arrangements with us tf»r the meeting, some of us doubted their ability to do the many things required of them, but I must say that they have not onl.v done what was requireil I ill I great deal more. They have taken every pre caution psaeihie to insure a good, clean meeting and there is no just i-ause for complaint on that score. I Unheal they have done more than they agreed to do."
