TULLY COULTER EXPECTS REINSTATEMENT. , Xew York. July 5. Tully Coulter, who was suspended by the stewards of the Coney Island Jockey Club Saturday on account of the inconsistent running of his horse. Beauclere, has been- on the turf for thirty years. He says he has not been in trouble before and that he did not bet on Beauclere. except to be declared in with a small wager made by a friend. He declares that he knew nothing of the wagers made by other persons and lie is confident that he can clear himself of the charges lodged against him. It Is rumored that a well-known western operator, who was mixed up in a prize-fight scandal in San Francisco years ago and was afterward ruled off tho turf on the coast and In Chicago, had something to do with tlie killing which was made on Beauclero when he won last Friday. The stewards are trying to probe the ease to the bottom, as it is the determination of the Jockey Club to keep the racing clean.
