DETAILS OF MADDEN BROODMARE SALE. Paris, France. July .5. Of the nineteen broodmares lielonging to John E. Madden, the American breeder, that were sold here Saturday for 4,800, eleven had colts. They arrived in France last December, and with three exceptions had been mated with Plaudit. The highest price paid was ,500 for Meddlers daughter. Iona, which was bought bv AV. K. Vanderbilt, who also gave ,200 for Satisfy. German Lassie realized ,400 and Deserted ,200. The buyers will have to pay 0 more for each one. which is the importation tax levied on each American mare entering this country.
