Turf Star outbroke her opponents and .drew away into an easy lead in the first furlong, was eased up a bit after entering the homestretch, but drew away again in the last furlong. King Solomon moved up with a game effort at the eighth post, lint tired in the last sixteenth. Fanntleroy, as usual, began slowly, but wore Fereno down at the end. Apache, close up all the way. tired under punishment in the stretch drive. Topsy ltobinson finished, gamely and was wearing Apache down. Fulford set the early pace but quit after going five furlongs. Piute was carefully rated in the early running and waited with until they had gone six furlongs, then was cut off when he attempted to go through on the inside on the turn out of the backstretch, but came fast hi the stretch run and outstayed Michael Angelo in the final drive. Michael Angelo, always prominent, dashed into a good lead on the far turn, but tired in the final strides. Simcoe showed much the most early iifei and, staying longer than usual, outgamed Jeff Bernstein at the end. The latter ran well. St. Elmwood ran under restraint for the first half, but tired when called on. Vox Populi ran well and easily disposed of Darknight in the final drive. John K. McMillan ran a bad race. Wool-winder was saved In the early running and waited with until entering the homestretch, where he moved up with a rush and outgamed Grania at the end. The latter was made too much use of in making the early pace and tired, but finished resolutely. Zipango moved up gamely on the far turn, hut tired in the last furlong and was driving hard to stall off Jack Baker. The latter made up ground and finished fast. Beau Urunimei showed speed, but tired. The winner was entered for 700; no bid. Overweights Jack Baker. 3 pounds.
