JACK ATEXNS TIME IN aUESTION. New York, July 22. There were wide differences of opinion as to the time Jack Atkin made in winning the Fleetwing Handicap Tuesday at Yonkers. The otlieial time hung out was 1:12. Slany of the trainers snapped their watches on the race, and none of them agreed with William H. Barretto. Walter House caught the three-quarters in 1:11, which was one-fifth of a second better than the track record for the distance made last summer by George Odoms Nimbus. John Powers, the new trainer of the big Sain horse, made it 1:11.R, the first half in 45J. George Rowe, a brother of Charlie Rowe and one of the most expert of the watchers of early morning work, made it 1:11?. There can be little doubt but that Jack Atkin has regained his best form, and that he will go on now and fill his engagements at Yonkers and Saratoga. His coming engagements at Yonkers are In the Yonkers and Mount Vernon Handicaps. The Yonkers, a ,500 race at one mile and a sixteenth, will be run next Saturday, and the Mount Vernon, a ,500 race at one mile, will be run the following Saturday.
