MOTORS MUCH USED AT YONKERS. New York. July 22. The comparative inaccessibility of the Yonkers course makes the Empire City meeting a harvest for taxicabs and sightseeing automobile companies. Hundreds of racegoers make the journev In each direction by these means, more than fifty of the "free lance" vehicles being in commission during the racing hours on Important days. In addition nearly 150 private cars are parked in the old orchard back of the grandstand, which the racing club has turned into an open air garage. Leaving the track they are generally loaded to capacity, some of the owners carrying friends even on the running boards to save them the disagreeable journey to Yonkers on the subway. The roads to the Empire City course are in excellent condition but the nutdinobllists find themselves unable to do any speeding, as a short, run from the track carries them into the city, where numerous policemen on motorcycles see to it that the proprieties are observed.
