HAGGIN TO ABANDON BREEDING. Lexington. Ky., July 22. James B. Haggin, master of Elmendorf Farm, arrived here today from New York to spend several weeks at his magnificent estate. .Mr. Haggin confirms the report published several weeks ago to the effect that he Intends to abandon the breeding of thoroughbred horses. He says that to his notion the sport has received too severe a blow to warrant his continuance. There is now being erected at Elmendorf a large dairy plant and Mr. Haggin says he will devote his, attention to dairy cattle and dairy products more largely than to anything else. There are now at Elmendorf seventeen thoroughbred stallions, 190 mares, about 100 yearlings and something like 150 foals of this year. The process of disposal, principally by sale in foreign countries, is to continue.
