A large proportion of the attendance lu that portion of the grounds is composed of women. James R. Keenes highly tried Grasmere, whicli failed at Saratoga Tuesday, is a fine looking chestnut with a beautiful neck and bead and symmetical conformation. His quarters seem a trifle light, however, and of the sloping kind, which denotes plenty of speed but little endurance. R. II. Cosgrove. manager of the Spokane Inter-State Fair. Is at Victoria looking for horses for the raw meeting to lie held in conjunction with the fair. Septeirtlcr 20-25. Mr. Cosgrove reports that there will be a scarcity of trotters at the fair this autumn, and on that account it is altogether probable that six races for the runners will le given each day.
