TRAINER BLUTE LEAVES GERST EMPLOY. Detroit, Mich.. August 18. James Blute, who has been connected with the Gerst stable as chief trainer, resigned his position tonight. He will return to Xew York and campaign a small string of racers of his own. The Gerst-Holle string will be I reduced considerably. Eleven of tlie string will lie returned to Nashville. Tenn.. and the remaining 1 eleven will in future be handled by George Ilatn.
