May Amelia drew out quickly and won all the way under a pull and is In wonderful form. Waponoca. from a , slow start, ran into quick, nearest and persistent but unavailing pursuit of the winner. Joe Gaitens ran forwardly and persistently throughout. Thomas Calhoun, away slowly, closed an immense gap in the middle running and seemed certain of a place, but tired in the closing drive. King Sol, badly outpaced "for " half of the journey, closed a big gap at the end. Ruxton and Norfolk ran well up for six furlongs. Okenite is not good and was hopelessly outpaced. Steve Lane followed the slow, early pacemaker and failed to hold his own in the closing half mile sprint. Sandy Crocker had scant chance under an incompetent and timid rider, was alternately bulled up nnd sent along and ran prominently until the real racing began. St. Deiniol drew out quickly and set a stiff pace, but went wide on the turn, then finished gamely. Billiard Ball ran in forward pursuit on the inside in the deep going and loomed up menacingly In the stretch, but tired in the closing drive. Fighting Bob broke so slowly as to have been nearly left and. after leiiig a hopeless trailer, closed a big gap in the last three furlongs and would have been second in two more strides. Arondack ran in nearest and strenuous pursuit and lapped the leader in the third quarter, then retired, but was a game and persistent second. Taboo trailed for seven furlongs and finished with a rush through ttge stretch. Miss Kearney, well up for half of the journey, but never, dangerous, seemed anchored in the going. Judge Iissing, crowded out at the start, was rushed through on the inside into the lead and spreadeagled his opposition under a pull. Top Notch ran hi nearest pursuit throughout and Is promising. Radation steadily improved bis position into a fast going third. Jack Frost was gaining at the end. Lingfield finished fast. Flotield failed to stay after showing early speed. Little Friend finished well. Indot showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. The winner was entered for 1909.sh00, was bid up to ,000 by W. II. Dubois and A. Koenigsberg, and bought in.
