HILDRETH ON KING JAMES DEFEAT. New York. Septemlier 4. Sam Hildreth is of the opinion that either Powers or Dugan would have given King James a better ride in the Twin City Handicap than the Plaudit colt got from Scovllle. King James was ready to go the entire route notwithstanding his long let-up. Mr. Hildreth declares, lie further avers that King James can work a faster mile and a quarter than Olambala ran in the Twin City. Mr. IHIreth saj-s that Scovllle. while alert at the barrier, does not appear to have sufficient bodily strength to make a robust horse of the King James type do his best. Seoville snows to advantage on fast free runners.
