Miller began slowly and was allowed to get settled in his stride before making a move, then worked bis way up on the outside and, finishing gamely through the stretch, wore Magdalen down and beat her out in the closing stride. Magdalen showed the most early speed, but tired when it came to a drive. Colonel Jot, crowded back at the start, came again in the last quarter and finished with a rush. Detroit pulled up lame. Plaudmorc was much used iu racing witli Charlie Eastman and Lady Irma and tired in the last furlong. Lady Irma tired in the final :rivo. ISooger Red and Royal Tourist looked big and fat. The latter was-a forward contender all the wav and may have been a little short, as she tired in the last eighth. Woolstonc. -closed -a big gap and finished with a rush. Hastv Agnes and Paul Rulnart showed speed, but quit in the last quarter and the latter was eased up at the finish. The winner was entered for .000; no hid. Theo Cook was rushed to the front quickly and showed much the most speed in the early running, but tired as if the route was a bit too far for him.
