RACERS GO TO LEXINGTON ROUND THE WORLD AND OTHERS TRANS- FERRED FROM THE DOWNS YESTERDAY. Mud Sill Works Impressively in Preparation for the Kentucky Derby Reports of Training Operations at the Louisville Tracks. Louisville, ICy., April 20. Two Kentucky Derby candidates worked impressively at Churchill Downs this -morning. They were W. 11. Fizors -Mud Sill and Colonel Hogan. from the barn of Henderson and Hogan, whieh received his early spring training in California. Mud Sill covered a mile and an eighth in 1:57J and was so rank that the boy had difficulty in keeping him straight. But for this zigzagging over the course lie would have worked a sensational trial. lie went the first quarter in 25. three-eighths in :.7J. the half in 40J, Hvo-eighths in 1:0.1s. three-quarters in 1:10.. .seven-eighths in l:.10i. and the mile In 1:4:!-. He appears to bo lit. Colonel Hogan pulled up almost to a walk in going three-quarters in 1:17J. The fractionals were 12, 2Ai. :!0. -40J. 1:02. This three-year-old has improved in appearance. None of the other Derby candidates did more than canter. The: Derby favorite. Round the World, was shipped this morning to Lexington and will start in the Phoenix Hotel Handicap on Saturday. Trainer W. G. Yanke only took the lilly Aragonese from his stable with Hound the World, but he also shipped there for trainer William Walker Col. W. E. Appier gates two-year-old Skillute. Other good work-outs today were: Agility Three-quarters in 1:10. Fractionals: 24, ,10. 49. 1:0.13. Is good. Den Lasca Half mile in 51. eased up. Is good. lelix-JHalf mile in 50J. Smart colt. Max Hirsb arrived from New York, whither he went following the close .of the meeting at Juarez. Tonight he shipped his entire string to Lexington. The racing strings of C. C. Van Meter and Peter Whnmer- were shipped this morning to Lexington. The crack lilly Beautiful, regarded as a likely factor in the Breeders Futurity, was one of the racers sent. Mr. Wimmor took all of his horses except Beatrice, which went wrong and has been turned out. Lon Jones brought his six racers from his farm todav. He lias several promising two-year-olds. Trainer William K. Phillips lias returned from Illinois. He has decided not to ship Topland aud Hcnrv Walbank to Lexington. On account of the congestion at the Downs. J. W. Mav has been forced to reserve stalls at Douglas Park for his horses now at Lexington. L. P. Doerhofers two-year-old, Tommie Thompson, which has been seriously ailing, is recovering. Lon Johnsons I!d Co will be raced here, but on account of his lightness in lle.sh his trainer will not camnaign him after the meeting terminates here.
