HAMILTON JOCKEY CLUBS STAKE RACES. Another list of attractive stake races to appeal to owners is that now offered by the Hamilton Jockey Club. These events are eight in number and as they close for entries May 4 owners and trainers have no more than enough time to study conditions aud make their nominations to those races which best suit the capacities of their horses. The races are for the clubs first meeting, which begihsJuno 17 and ends June 24. For this meeting, in addition to the stake races, the club offers a liberal program of seven races each day. with no purse of less than 00 and a jumping race each day. Thestakes to close are: For Three-year-olds. The Hamilton Derby, ,500 guaranteed; 1 1-4 miles. For Three-year-olds and Over, The National Handicap, ,500 added; 1 1-S miles. The AVentworth Plate. ,200 added; 3-4 mile. The Tucket t Selling Stakes, ,200 added; 1 1-10 miles. The Dominion Plate, Canadian hreds", ,200 added; 1 1-8 miles. Coronation Day Handicap, Canadian owned, ,000 added; 1 mile. For Two-year-olds. The Grant Spring Brewery Stakes, ,200 added; 5-S mile. For Four-year-olds and Over. The Barton Steeplechase, ,000 added; about 2 1-4 miles. Hamilton now occupies an Important place in Canadian racing and its offerings are commended to American owners for prompt aiid hearty patronage.
