TWO THOUSAND GUINEAS WON BY SUNSTAR. London. Eng., April 20. The Two Thousand Guineas for three-year-olds at one mile, was run at Newmarket today with fourteen starters .aiid; was won by J. B. Joels brown colt, Siinstar. by Sundrldge Doris, Lord Derbys chestnut colt, Stedfiist. by Chaucer Be Sure, finished second and J. B. Joels bay colt, Lycaon. by Cyllene La Vierge. -was third. Among t lie starters were II. P. AVhltneys Iron Mask, James R. Keenes Runnymcdc and Richard Crokers Clonbern. A selling plate of 10.1 sovereigns for two-year-olds over the last half mile of the Rous Course, for which thirteen started, was won by II.- P. Whitneys bay or brown gelding by Hamburg Jinks, with the bav gelding Glengarry second and bay lilly Acsu third. Sunstar was a good two-year-old. His first start was in the New Stakes at Ascot in which -he ran fourth to Seafortli. Nerestan and Sandal. His next -start was in the Exeter Stakes at the .Newmarket First July, meeting. This luY won with Canvas-back second and St. Girons third; Borrow ran unplaced. His third appearance was in -the Lavant Stakes at Goodwood, which St. Nat won with Sunstar second and Night Rider third. Then he won ilie International Two-Year-OId -Plate at Kempton Park, Ilia finishing second and Peggy Hylaud third. His fifth essay was in the Champagne Stakes at Doncastcr, for which lie was third to Pietri and AVrinkler. He wound up his racing as a two-year-old by running a dead heat with Borrow for the Hopeful Stakes at the Newmarket First October meeting, but was lucky because Borrow failed to win outright through stumbling when near the linisli. Mr. Joel was exceedingly fortunate in furnishing the first and third horses in such a world-famous race.
