CHARGES INCREASED BECAUSE OF DELAY Lexington Ky April 12 When the seventeen race horses belonging to J F Newman T S Har ¬ rison 7 O Kceiie Paul 7 Miles George B More land and Mose Goldhlatt readied here from Washing ¬ ton Ind a bill for 3G3 was presented by Express Agent Grinstead for the keep of the horses and at ¬ tendants at the Indiana town when they were marooned since March 25 because of the Hood The horses were prepaid from El Paso to Lexington ami Goldblatt in whoso name they were shipped hud the Wells Fargo Express Company receipt for fU0 2 Goldblatt claimed that the company contracted to deliver the horees here for that amount of money and lie could not see where he should be held for excess in any event Grinsteud argued the provi ¬ dential act as a basis for justification of the express companys claim General Agent Rodish of the Southern Express Company was consulted at Cincin ¬ nati by telephone and he proposed to split the bill the horsemen to pay 181 Goldblatt siid he would stand good for the payment of this amount but would reserve the right to sue for it He has con ¬ sulted a local attorney
