NOTES OF THE TURF P M Civill lias two horses hi tpiining at Lexing ¬ ton and was a visitor there on Friday FridayJockey Jockey Vanilnsen has arrived at lexington from Jamestown and has rejoined the stable of his former employer Howard Oots OotsPalanquin Palanquin which Albert Simons has just sold to J O Talbott is a horse of exceptionally good disposition He is as kind as a kitten It is re ¬ ported that Simons received 4000 for him himTrainer Trainer Krank Lynn has arrived at AAoodbine Park Toronto with New England and Dr Hollis owned by C E Dixon of Toronto Trainer William Dates has also arrived at Woodbine from Chatham with the provincebred mare Miss Edna Feiiwick owned by J Hums of Chatham There was gloom up at the AAatcrloo farm of T E Seagram recently when IJouquet lost her foal by the Galliuulc stallion Galatiue Bouquet is one of the best mares If not actually the best ever owned in Canada and the loss of her foal by such a richlybred stallion as UalatiiiQ is deplored deploredRain Rain Daisy is said to be Albert Simons favorite among the twoyearolds he is handling for Harry Payne Whitney at Norfolk This Is a bay filly by Hamburg Daisy F Mr Simons is reported to have set a price of 5OOO on Holiday to a pro ¬ spective purchaser Holiday is small and compact and has a high turn of speed speedIn In the Salmon sweep at Aancouver I C on the Grand National AV C Thomas a local electrician was the holder of the winning ticket and received 21000 for his investment Second prize went to W Evans of Aictoria who received 10800 while another Aancouver man F Steve won third prize which netted him 5400 Altogether there were sixtyfour prizes in this sweep
