HENDRIE HORSES IN WINTER QUARTERS. Toronto, Ont., November 1. In charge of trainer Eddie Whyte, the stable of Hon. .Tohu S. Hendrie was this week shipped from Woodbine to the Valley Farm at Hamilton to go into winter quarters. In the lot were Tankard, Privet Petal and King Cotton, a two-year-old owned by George M. Hendrie. The balance of the string are yearlings which have been at Woodbine for about three months, being broken and tried for next season. They have all been named as follows: David Gillies, b. c. by David Garrick Placena. La Spark, ch. c, by Martlmas Flicker. Splutter, ch. c. by Martinias Splash. Indian Actor, ch. c. by David Garrick Temagami. Sarah, ch. f, by Martimas Sally Cohen. Scotch Actor, b. c, by David Garrick Butter Scotch. Odds On. b. f, by Martimas Ostiketa. John Peel, ch. c. by Martimas The Liuter. Red Fire. b. c. by Red Fox II. Shimonese. Fergus, ch. c. by Dr. Boots Flexible the property of George SI. Hendrie. La Spark, a brother to Glimmer, and Splutter, a brother to White Caps, are both promising youngsters. Barring Fergus, they are all home-breds and eligible for the Coronation Stakes next spring and the Kings Plate of 1915. They are an exceptionally fine-looking lot. Due to the unfavorable track conditions of late, nothing in the way of fast work has been asked of them. Several have shown quarters close to 24 seconds, however. Chas. Keau has disposed of the three-year-old Black River, which he purchased this spring from Robt. Davies. to W. G. Wilson. The terms were private. It is the intention of Wilson to make a jumper of Black River. All but one of the twenty-six thoroughbreds which Barney Sebreiber sent here this fall to be sold, have been disposed of. The solitary remaining one, a green three-year-old, which lias been schooled over the jumps, was yesterday shipped to the Schreiber farm in Missouri.
