i- : WEBER and WARDS STABLE RECORD FOR 1914 : : : Tlie firm of Weber and Ward raced some speedy horses in 1914 and score! quite a Tespectable measure of success. The ileet Broomstick mare, Winning Witch, was their liest money winner and a hard horse to beat when at her besl. She was .especially good In the spring and early summer when she won live races consecutively, in which was iucMided tlH? Frank Fehr Stakes at Churchill Downs r.no the Speculation Stakes at Douglas Park. Altogether she was a decidedly satisfactory possession. While in their ownership Grover Hughes won four good races for them and was their second best winner. It is one of the anomalies of raciic that in 1913 this fast horso could not win a single one of his sixteen laces, while he has almost won that "many Taces this year and was a good winner in 1912. Solar Star, Grosvenor, Ancon and Deposit all wen well for the stable and Its record was as follows: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. . 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
