ONE OF ST. SIMONS FEW FAILURES. The sire, NullI Secnndiis, owned by J. W. Lar-nach, has been destroyed. Re was by St. Simon from Nunsuch, and bred by the late King Edward In 1903. As a ihree-year-old NullI Socundus carried royal colors in the Derby, being unplaced to Sivear-lniht, while for the Royal Stakes at the Second Oc tober meeting he was beaten by Glaseonbury. For the Princess of Wales Stakes in the following season NullI Sccundus was beaten two lengths by Polymelus. and was the runneruo to Fairy Story for the Non-Stayers Plate at Lingfield. while at Windsor the colt made no show behind Gallingo in the Kings Birthday Handicap. These were his only assays on the Hat. As a three-year-old he won a couple of hurdle races for the late king a juvenile hurdle at Aldershot and a similar item at Birmingham. As a four-year-old he was beaten a neck by the late Mr. Stedalls Melane at Hurst Park in a Novices Hurdle, finished third to Cord tiff at Sandown. hut ran unplaced to Brookwood over tile same course later in the season. Nnlll Secundus was given one outing as a five-year-old over the jumps at Leicester, failing to make any impression on Lustleigb. On each occasion he represented King Edward. At the stud the horse did not prove a worthy sou of St. Simon, having only sired four winners of minor events.
