Won easily; second and third driving. 15 ILLY COLLINS raced close tip behind OTRANTO to the last eighth, then took the lead and won going away. A. C. HALEY began slowly, but gradually improved his position and finished fast. CHASER ran well and held a good position throughout. CALETHUMPIAN closed up much ground. OTRANTO tired baiily after showing the most early speed and setting the pace to the stretch. HOLLAND was lame when going to the iost, but showed some speed from a ioor beginning, then tired. AKIN was saved close up behind the pacemaker to the stretch, then lost considerable ground by a wide stretcli turn, but took the lead in the last eighth and drew out with ease to win in a canter. JIM L SAVAGE showed the most early speed and set a good pace, but tired in the stretch and just saved second place. CARLONE moved up fast while rounding the stretch turn, but was forced wide by the winner, which cost him second place. RAMBOO closed up much ground after losing several lengths at the start. ENCORE began quickly and showed the most speed for the first half mile, then tired when challenged by the winner, but finished gamely. YORKVILLE also tired after following ENCORE closely to the stretch. UNDAUNTED ran a poor race and was always outrun. J. D. HARRELL ran a bad race. The winner was entered for 5900; no bid. MACK raced well up throughout and held on well in the stretcli drive VOLTUORPE wao jammed back on the first turn and could not get to gong well afterwards.
