RECORD OF THE HALLENBECK STABLE FOR 1914 la 4" The stable of II. C. Hallenbock won a total of 7,333 in the racing of 1914. comparing favorably with its return of 3,391 in 1913- IUs speedy pla.ter. Blue Thistle, was bis best winner, but in point of natural endowment Frederick L. and Housemaid were the best horses raced by him. Frederick L. was so unsound in his legs that he was ditlicult to trajn and, til though he won in good company. It is doubtful whether he was ever entirely lit. Housemaid did not make her appearance in racing until tlie season was well advanced, but when she did comeout she raced to such good effect that the official handicappers did not delay long about marking her as their own, the result being that she was generally favored witli the top weight in handicaps and right well did she acquit herself under heavy imposts. With one exception the stables horses were three-year-olds and oyer, the exception being the two-year-od Harry Junior, which finished third i"i the Futurity and won some creditable races afterwards, but on the whole was an unlucky youngster.
