NEW YORK WINTER COLONY INCREASED. New York, December 5. With the close of Maryland racing, the training colonies both at Belmont Park and Gravesend were materially increased. George Odoni has wound up the season of 1910 as far as racing is concerned, and lias opened a public training stable at Gravesend. in the same building he occupied near the boulevard last winter. Of the Brighton Stable, with which he began the season, only two came home with him at the end of the Maryland season, Marse Henry and Glory Belle, but witli these lie brought home the good chestnut two-year-old filly, Felucca, which lie has been racing for H. W. Warner, who bought her from August Belmont early in the season. Trainer Odoni is well satisfied witli the success which attended his Maryland campaign. He went south with a light and inexpensive string and came back with no less than thirteen races to his credit. Of these. Yellowstone won four before being claimed by J. W. Hedrick; Marse Henry, four; Glory Belle, three, and Felucca and Ed Garrison, one each. As a ni itter of fact, the showing made by the Brighton Stable for the season of 1910, both as to races won and general financial results, was one to be proud of. Grant Hugh Browne and trainer Charles Casey, who trains part of his big racing string, were visitors at Gravesend Saturday afternoon. Mr. Browne was looking over his latest importations of thoroughbreds. A few mornings ago O. C. Rasch sent his handsome bay yearling by Sweep a quarter at Gravesend in :23, although the track was by no means fast. The colt began rapidly and covered the first eighth in :11 and, altogether, the work Avas extremely impressive, taking all the conditions into consideration.
