HAVANAS MEETING TO BEGIN TODAY. Havana, Cuba, December 5. The third annual meeting of the Cuba-American Jockey Club will begin tomorrow, December 0, and continue until Sunday, March IS, 1917. The plan at present is to conduct the races on throe days a week until the first of the year, after which racing will be held every day except Mondays. However, if conditions warrant it, the change will be made before the new year. For the opening day, a card of six races, including the Oriental Park Opening Handicap, will be offered and good fields are assured for each event. The officials are the same as served last year and include the following: Presiding Steward C. J. Fitz Gerald. Associate Steward C. II. Lansdale. Patrol Steward A. T. Dobson. Presiding Judge Martin Nathanson. Associate Judge P. A. Brady. Starter James V. Milton. Clerk of the Scales C. C. Campeau. Paddock Judge W. W. Lyles. Racing at Oriental Park is conducted under the rules ol the Cuba-American Jockey Club. The purses will be 00 and over, witli a liberal sprinkling of overnight handicaps with from 1916.sh00 to ,000 added.. The course at Oriental Park is reported to be in excellent condition and it is freely predicted that the track will be faster than last year, and some of the time records established then will be shattered and replaced by faster ones.
