THORNCLIFFE TRACK LEASE SIGNED. Deed Made Out to New Breeding and Racing Association at Toronto. Toronto. Out., December 12. The lease of 125 acres of land for a new race course at Tliorncliffe has been made to the Tliorncliffe Breeding and Racing Association for ten years, according to the statement given out before "Gad" Bryan, J. A. Berger, architect Wright and their legal representatives left Toronto on Saturday, and the plant will be constructed by lloltby Bros., Limited. The personnel of the association has not been announced, but it was declared that Mr. Berger had undertaken to secure the necessary capital in Canada, if possible, for the operation of the track. It was also said it was intended to set about the construction work so that racing could be carried on next season. No apprehension was expressed on the question of securing a license from the Provincial treasurer. Racing dates have not yet been considered, but as the season in Ontario and Quebec is already fully appropriated by the existing tracks they will necessarily have to conflict with some other meeting. The declaration of the Horsemens Association that the members would not race at any track in Ontario -which was not under license last fall is another matter the consideration of which has not yet been reached, the deal for the control of the charter and Bease being of primary importance.
