2I0TED ANGLO-AUSTRIAN TRAINER RETIRES. "Deutscber Sport" announces the retirement at the close of the season in Austria-Hungary of the well-known trainer, John Reeves, after fifty years in that capacity. Before going out to Austria, he was a well-known lightweight jockey in England, and among other races he won the Brighton Stakes in 1802 on Watchfire, going to scale at 06 pounds. In Austria he became a trainer of much note. In jrecent years he trained the string of Baron A. de iltothschild. and this year saddled Sanskrit for his wictorious races In the Austrian Derby and St. Leger. Hia son, Alec Beeves, is to succeed him ia the ser-vtoe of JJaron Rothschild.
