LORD DERBYS HORSE FINISHES THIRD. The Newmarket First Spring meeting, the last flat race gathering under the recent decision to suspend racing activities on account of the scarcity of forage, is under way this week. The Hastings Plate, the opening days feature, was won by Sir W. Tattms Argosy, ridden by the champion jockey, Steve Douoghue. with 1. Bibbys Studwall second. and Lord Derbys Condor third. Lord Derby is the war minister of the Lloyd George government. Ar- gosy was the favorite at 5 to 4. Six horses ran.
