BOWIE MEETING TERMINATES a Small Fields Furnish the Sport at Prince Georges Park. a Woodstone Wins Liberty Bond Handicap — Poor Prices Realized at Paddock Sale. a Bowie. Md.. April 13. — The spring meeting of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association came to a close today at Bowie. The fields were small, owing to the heavy condition of the track, not more than six starting in any race. The Liberty Bond Handicao at one mile, was the principal attraction of the day. Woodstoue. ridden by Rodriguez, was returned the winner, apataalai through next to the inner rail on the last turn and holding All Smiles safe when the latter challenged in the final drive. Pharaoh was the winner of the opening dash after a close fought finish with Glory Belle. The second went to Royal Interest, which led throughout to win easily. Dr. Campbell. Ina K. and Margery were the real contenders in the third, they crossing the winning line iu order named. The nice at one mile and an eighth proved easy for Fairly, the favorite, lrogressive tiring badly at the eud. Odalisque repeated her victory of the other day by scoring in impressive fashion iu the fifth race over Senator Broderick and In |iiieta. The closing dash resulted in au easy victory for Boxer. There was a sale of miscellaneous horses in the paddock prior to the running of the first race. Four horses were disposed of and brought extremely low prices. Many were withdrawn for lack of sufficient bids. Hurwood. which went to J. F. Sweeney. Itrought the top price: he went for *2tW. The others disposed of were: Athos. to J. H. Sehelk" for 0." : Conceit, to L. O. Sawyer for ." . and Wichaka. to W. T. McG ruder for 3. THOMAS CLYDE SELLS FILLY DUNEDIN. Ernest Hall, who lost his promising colt Eyeglass in the fire yesterday, purchased at private terms from Thomas Clyde the filly Dunedin. which was a recent winner at this meeting. James McLaughlin. Jr.. son of the patrol judse. was a visitor today. G. Lansdowne. who presided as steward durin;; the recent Havana meeting, was another visitor. F. P. Fones claimed his Monocacy out of the fiftli race Wednesday for himself, bidding ?!! » over the entered priiv of the horse. For an altercation on the grounds of tin- race track, owner T. Francis was fined IN» by the stewards. Francis and his adversary engaged in conflict on the lawn in full view of the spectators. Spectre and Mr. Mack were excused from starting in tin- sixth and seventh rai-es today by the stewards. Siiectro pulled up lame after her last race, while Mr. Mack went lame in a gallop this morning. Trainer Porr-tto withdrew Mr. Mack from the last race and will have him fired and turned out for the summer. W. C. Capps has received a communication fn.iu Martin Nathanson. of the Cuban-American Jockey Club, that the ruling of last year by which his license as trainer was revoked has lieen rescinded and he has lieen restored to all privileges. George Hennessey has purchased the contract on the apprentice rider S. Siioidman.
