IMPROVEMENTS FOR LEXINGTON TRACK LEXINGTON. Ky., November 3. Asked concerning contemplated improvements at the Kentucky Joi kev Club local track, manager R. L. Baker today said: "The recommendation is that there be an extension of the grandstand one hundred feet eastward and that the saddling paddock be relocated alKiut one hundred feet up the stretch from its present place. Inder the grandstand the pari-mutuel offices are to be rearranged to permit of the installation of thirty-five machines and approximately- thirty cashier booths. The clubhouse also is to be remodeled. The extension of the grandstand will increase the seating capacity by about 800, including twenty-four additional boxes with six seats each." .... Alanager Baker said the lioard of directors of the Kentucky Jockey Club has not as yet authorized thes- improvements, but it is expected it will do mi at the nest meeting. Relative to enlargement of the track to one mile and an eighth manager Baker said the club had no laud available for that purpose. It is a part of the plan, he said, that new barns to a capacity of 101 stalls be erected and that old bains have new roofs and other repairs, the work to be begun and finished as soon as possible after it is authorized.
