Racing officials of this country might with advantage copy the English method of managing some matters of detail. For instance, there is no dillydallying with racing dates there. They are decided upon and published practically a year in advance, so everyone concerned knows when all the meetings big or little are to be held and what to do . accordingly. Thus it comes about that dates for all the flat racing meetings of 1920 in England have ! long been arranged and made public. The flat racing season, as is customary, begins at Lincoln, opening Monday, March 22, and covering the first three days of the week, the Lincolnshire Handicap being the big race of the meeting and the first really important event of 1920 racing. The remaining three days of the week are devoted to the Liverpool spring meeting, with the Liverpool Grand National Steeplechase as its main attraction.
