CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Lutteur III., the French horse, which won the English Grand National ten years ago, is going well in his special preparation for English winter stee-pleeuasing. Lutteur III. is now fifteen years old, and jumping as well as ever, they say. He always was safe and sure at his obstacles and won the National by so being. James Woodland, famous in his day as a lightweight jockey and the rider of one thousand winners, died of cancer in a Guidon hospital October 27, aged. fifty-nine years. In 1889 he rode Minthe, winner of the One Thousand Guineas, LAIibesse tie Jouarre of the Oaks, Dog Rose of the Stewards Cup, und Philomel of the Liverpool Cup.
