AMERICAN STEEPLECHASER IS FIRST PAULS. France. August 31. The Prix Henry Uirigwny. Grand Steeplechase, a handicap of ,000 for frur-year-olris and over, over a distance of about three miles, was the feature of the concluding days racing at Deauville Saturday. The race was won by Y. T. Wilkinsons The Sachem, b. c. 4. by Kncle Our LnsWe. which was easily best in a good field. Jockey G. Mitchell piloted the winner. Prince Aga Khan has signed jockey G. Garner, a former American, to ride for the stable now beiug assembled by the Oriental potentate. N. A. Ambatielos, the popular Greek sportsman, has engaged Wallie Davis as trainer. Racing at Deauville is over for another year, and the venue changes to the Parisian circuit, starting at Chantilly September 4, with the Prix de Chantilly the special feature.
