SENTIMENTAL IS SET BACK Mare Wins, But Is Disqualified for Shortage of Weight. P. Hinphy Scores a Double Hopeful Surprises and Wins at Long Odds. CLEVELAND, Ohio, October 31. Once more history repeated itself when at Maple Heights this ; afternoon P. Hinphy scored a double with Mack Garner and Chimera, the former through the disqualification , of Sentimental. Under "his "heavy impost of 123 pounds Mack Garner set out to make a runaway affair of the Autumn Handicap, the fourth and feature attraction. When straightened out in the stretch Sentimental closed up gamely and, in the final strides, got home by a neck in front of Mack Garner, with The Desert a creditable third. When weighing out Sentimental was found to be six pounds under her allotted weight of 112 pounds and was disqualified. This permitted Bar-dora, which finished fourth to get thjrd money. Upon investigation the blame for the shortage of weight on Sentimental was placed on the valet of jockey L. Aron and he was dismissed. The Jones mare carried only 100 pounds, the lead being later discovered in the jockeys room. Another excellent .crowd for a Monday witnessed : rtltc races which were run over a slow track, the -result of last nights rain. Ttlte closest and most interesting finish of the afternoon came witli the running of the fifth race. Busy Bird was the favorite, but could not do better than finish third, while Phillipe Lugo and Jack Ledi staged a thrilling duel for first money. The latter was heavily backed and ran well, but found the Marathon colt more than a match when they clashed in the stretch after Little Less, the pacemaker, tired and dropped back. Duggau rode a strong finish on the winner. SEA BOARD ALL THE WAY. Public opinion was evenly divided on the outcome of the second race, Sea Board and She Devil being almost equal choices, with the others practically neglected. Sea Board was the winner, leading all the way, with the outsider, Dorothy Carlin, always in closest pursuit, but never seriously threatening her younger opponent. She Devil finished third, racing well throughout and closing fast arid gamely. The biggest surprise of the afternoon was fur-1 nished by Hopeful, which beat the favorite, Ben-galese, in the fifth race and paid 8.00 for a , investment in the mutuels.
