. ABBOTS TRACES ENGLISH RECORD Rather overlooked in news reports was a record performance of the Tracery colt Abbots Trace in the race for the Liverpool Cup in England recently. With 120 pounds on his back Lord Dewars horse won by eight lengths from a good band of eleven, the iriile and three-eighths in 2:15. Abbots Trace is four years old, by Tracery Abbots Anne, and is rather erratic in his racing. His forte is extreme speed. Abbots Traces time of 2:15 in the Liverpool Cup is the English record for the distance, displacing Dean Swifts record of 2:li?4 made in the same event in June, 190S. It is not the fastest time ever made, as claimed in England. That is held by Man o War and is the 2:14, made under 120 , pounds at Belmont Park June 12, 1920.
