COMPARISON OF DERBY TIMES Spion Kops Epsom Derby time, 2:34, was the third fastest for the race until displaced by that of Captaia Guttle, which covered the distance this year in 2:34. Spion Kops record and those of Pommern, 2:32, and Gainsborough, 2:33, still stand in the order named. Captain Cuttles race was over a changed distance. Owing to the recent modification of Tattenham Corner the course is now about twenty-four yards less, which represents about one and two-fifths seconds. This should, therefore, be added to Captain Cuttles time when comparing same with that shown by Spion Kop.
