FIRST HAWTHORNE ARRIVAL Three-Year-Old Incognance Reaches Here for Meeting Opening September 30. The first arrival at Hawthorne for the scheduled twelve-day racing meeting commencing Saturday, September 30, turned up in Incognance, a three-year-old colt, by Disguise Las Flores, owned and trained by Early S. Wright. Ordinarily a matter oi this kind would not create much interest, but at the present time, when the track is being put in condition and men are at work in ajl parts of the inclosure of a course that has" not been used for racing for a number of years, the appearance of the first horse aroused more than passing notice. A pe culiar thing is that the owners family name is Wright and his given name Early, so if there is anything in "hunches" it will go for something. Track superintendent Diener has put on additional men on both the track proper and the barns and absolutely assures judge Murphy that he should not hesitate to arrange shipment of horses from Canada any time after Saturday. The cold water white paint has made a wonderful improvement in the looks of the interiors of the barns and by Sunday the old back-stretch will look like the White City on a clear day. Telegrams are coming in from all parts of the country asking for application blanks and from present indications there need be no worry pertaining to filling the required number named in the prospectus. One thing the public is asking about that can be easily answered, and that is an associate member has the privilege of issuing guest tickets daily by vouching for and indorsing the ticket.
